 Yes, this movie upset me so that I liked it. This is the first movie that I have watched in a long time that was a Hanger and not just a hanger but a Hanger (I'll spare you the font and color usage). I didn't know what was going to happen next and when it did happen it wasn't what I was following. I was in a whirlwin of what the hell was going on and I was just starting to get upset until the unexpected happened.
Nudity happened........Halle Berry Nude.....She got it on Whoooooooo. Ok so mabe I'm getting a little excited about it but it was so much better when it was totally unexpected even in the movie. I was watching wondering what was going to happen next and wham I got a completed movie. I mean theres an electric chair, a suicide, some guns, and then there is Halle. I think she's a great in this movie how she runs her character through so many situations and emotions like she does and as far as looks go hey I thought she was hot in Boomerang. The movie is worth seeing, Billy Bob Thorton's acting is good, but his character's change in the movie is well kind of strange. If you want to not be able to know what's going to happen next in a movie for a change try this one. -------------------- Mountains are just upside down Lakes!!

I liked this movie a lot too and thought she deserved the oscar, more so than Denzel Washington deserved his. It really was a depressing movie, one of the reasons that Billy Bob Thorton's character changed is because they had one thing in common, tradegy and the need for someone else. He was able to set aside his prejudice and racism, just the way how Halle Berry at the end was able to put aside the fact that she found out it has him that executed her husband. They needed somebody when everyone they had was gone, or not even there to begin with.
Another really tragic character in this movie was Wizard, er I mean Young Frankenstein's Monster, .... er I mean Peter Boyle.. yeah yeah thats it Peter Boyle. That aside, his character really was sad, especially how low it was for him to make the comment to Berry's that he did when she was in his house. That was pretty pathetic and sad. He didn't learn from his past and his mistakes the way the other two seemingly did, and had to pay the price for it, by going to the old folks home. -------------------- |

Monster's Ball is one of my favorite films of its year. It has kind of made me depressed that Berry, after her speech of triumph for black women in cinema, that she has reverted to roles of her past. I was really expecting some more challenging things from her...anticipating it eagerly actually. Perhaps Gothika was supposed to be her next big hit...I don't know. Hopefully she'll get back on track after her Catwoman thing flops (heaven forbid).

I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.
